Side by Side
with our Veterans
We support organizations and local legions that bring real help to Veterans in need.
We're honored to support United States military Veterans.
The Side by Side Charitable Organization began in 2014 with a group of local business leaders interested in supporting Veterans through an annual charity golf tournament. At that first tournament, supporters played golf side by side with our Veterans. This inspired our name. To date, the tournament has raised over $1,000,000 to help fund organizations that provide important services to support our Veterans.
Side by Side is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

Habitat for Humanity supports the courageous men and women who have served our country through events that honor their service. They build and repair homes, in addition to other activities that assist Veterans in their homes. This includes a military community build during the week of Veterans Day.
NEADS – “World Class Service Dogs”
The Service Dogs for Veterans program offers fully trained service dogs, at no charge, for United States Veterans who have a permanent physical disability or hearing loss or have MS or other progressive conditions. These disabilities do not need to be service related.
VETS INC. – “They were there when we needed them… We must be there now that they need us!”
Veterans Inc. is determined to provide what Veterans need within a culture that affirms the individual’s dignity, uncovers his or her inner strengths, and promotes self-determination and independence. Veterans Inc, assists with food, shelter, clothing, education, counseling, and so much more.
PGA Hope – “Helping our Patriots Everywhere.”
PGA Hope introduces golf to Veterans and Active-Duty Military to enhance their physical, mental, social, and emotional well-being.
Leashes of Valor – “One Leash Saves Two Lives.”
Leashes of Valor brings well-trained service dogs and post-9/11 Veterans together in order to enrich and improve the lives of both.
The Travis Mills Foundation – “Never Give Up. Never Quit.” Rest and Relaxation for Recalibrated Veterans
After losing portions of both arms and legs while serving in Afghanistan, Travis Mills worked hard to recover. After healing, he didn’t feel like a “Wounded Warrior” so he coined the term “Recalibrated Veteran.” His mission is to support post-9/11 recalibrated Veterans and their families through programs that help these men and women overcome physical and emotional obstacles, strengthen their families, and provide well deserved rest and relaxation at the Travis Mills retreat in Maine.
Local Legion Posts – Veterans Strengthening America
The local American Legions lobby on behalf of the interests of Veterans and service members, including support for benefits like pensions and the Veteran’s Health Administration. They assist local Veterans in need because they are embedded in, and in touch with, their communities.
"I donate to Side By Side because my single donation helps multiple organizations that do tremendous work to help our Veterans and their families with just about any service they need. It is an honor and a privilege to play golf side by side with these heroes each year!”
- Tom Nicalek, President, Renaud HVAC & Controls, Inc.
